Registration rooms
A registration room is an open sign-up lobby: teams register freely, continuously, and the organizer then splits the registered teams into one or more tournaments. Ideal for filling up before cutting.
Who: organization Owner or Admin.
Create a room
At the Format step of creation (see Create a competition), pick the Rooms family → Registration room.
At the Details step, on top of the usual fields, two room-specific settings:
| Field | Details |
|---|---|
| Max number of teams | Optional. Beyond it, sign-ups go to a waitlist instead of being refused. Empty = unlimited. |
| Registration deadline | Optional. Past this time, no team can register anymore. Empty = open until the split. |
Like any competition, a room can have an entry fee and a deposit. Fees are only charged on an effective registration; a waitlisted team pays nothing until it gets a spot.
The room's page
A room has a single page: the split page. No schedule, no phases until it is split.
- Live sign-up list: teams appear as registrations come in (web, mobile or Discord), refreshed automatically.
- Add a team (top right): manual add by an admin.
- Deadline shown when a registration deadline is set.
Split into tournaments
The split happens in two steps.
1. Configuration
Declare your tournaments and their size (number of teams). Teams beyond the configured total appear dimmed: they are the ones that won't be admitted.
Admission rule: the first registered teams are prioritized (strict registration order, first come, first served).
2. Distribution
The Distribute teams button applies the level rule: among the admitted teams, they are ranked by division in your community (see Ranking & honors), then cut across the tournaments — tournament 1 gets the best ranked, and so on. Unranked teams come last.
From there, everything is adjustable by hand: each team is a card you can drag and drop from one tournament to another, or into the "unplaced" zone. A card can exceed its configured size. You can also change each tournament's name and photo.
The "D1" to "D5" chip shows the team's division in your community, to help you group by level via drag and drop.
Create the tournaments
Distribute creates the tournaments with their participants and deletes the room. Unplaced teams (beyond the total) are unregistered (and refunded if the room was paid).
The tournaments are created without a schedule: you then choose each one's format from its own page (see Generate the schedule).
Delete a room
The 🗑 button (owner) deletes the room and all its registrations (deposits refunded). Definitive action.
From Discord
Teams can register on a room directly from Discord via the IFC bot
(/rooms command). See Discord bot.
